Knitting for Beginners: Washcloths with Tracy Knutson

This class is designed to teach basic knitting skills through the creation of a small useful washcloth or dishcloth. Students will learn the following skills: Long-tail cast-on, knit stitch, purl stitch, garter stitch, rib stitch, cast-off , weaving in yarn tails, and how to read a simple knitting pattern.

Additionally, yarn holding techniques, un-knitting to correct mistakes, and identifying stitches on the needle will be demonstrated.

This class includes lunch and coffee and tea in your tuition.

The following material provided:

1 skein (2.5 oz/120yds.) Lily Sugar ‘n Cream worsted weight cotton yarn (ecru)

1 pair single point Clover Takumi 9” bamboo knitting needles size US10/6.0mm

1 tapestry needle

1 copy of project pattern
